Hector "Chino" Perez is a celebrated artist. Gaining international attention for his unique style. Chino was born in Havana, Cuba and studied at the school of design and completed additional courses at the school of fine arts in San, Alejandro, Cuba. He has overcome many personal obstacles to become the celebrated and gifted artist. He is today in the 1990's. Chino face the devastating tragedy, the loss of his painting arm in an automobile accident through perseverance and sheer love and commitment to his art. He recreated himself by teaching himself to paint with his other hand.

En la obra de Arbelio Fontes Rodríguez, el éxodo deja de ser un concepto político o social para convertirse en un lenguaje visual universal. Su pintura no representa simplemente personas que caminan; representa lo que se deja atrás, lo que no se nombra, lo que duele y sin embargo impulsa.
Sus personajes, casi siempre de espaldas o de perfil, despojados de detalles faciales, no requieren identidad individual para volverse espejos colectivos. Con cuerpos mínimos, trazados con contornos negros rotundos, estas figuras pequeñas flotan o caminan sobre fondos intensamente simbólicos. El color no decora: el color en Fontes es atmósfera emocional. El rojo es urgencia, el azul es silencio, el amarillo es nostalgia, el blanco es vacío o promesa.
En cada composición, hay un equilibrio entre lo estático y lo narrativo. Nada se mueve, pero todo está en tránsito. Los fondos espatulados y las texturas abruptas rompen la aparente sencillez de las formas, sugiriendo grietas en la memoria, ráfagas del pasado o caminos inestables. No es arte naïf ni pop, aunque flirtea con ambos. Es más bien un lenguaje propio, donde el gesto es síntesis y la geometría es alma.
El espectador, frente a sus obras, no se siente afuera. Se siente dentro del cuadro, en ese punto invisible donde comienza el viaje. Es ahí donde Fontes se vuelve más que un pintor: es un cronista visual de la experiencia humana en fuga, un traductor de silencios que atraviesan fronteras.
